Synthesis of materials
• Coating of surfaces
After a stabile suspension is produced, we have a variety of options for coating substrates. We have coated metals, glasses, plastics, wood, and ceramics. Porous and non-porous substrates can be used. Coatings can either be applied by: spraying, spin casting, dip-coating, electrodeposition, or slip casting. Typical film thickness is less than 0.5 microns. Thin-films reduce problems related to cracking as well as the transport of electron, protons and other chemical species moving through these porous materials. This means that ionic and electronic transport are greatly facilitated thereby making these materials good in battery, ultracapacitor and in fuel cell applications.
